Do I need to bring the dumbbells together when lifting..?ㅠㅠ I don't bring them together for dumbbell bench press, but I feel like I need to do it for this to get some stimulation, so please let me know, big brother Drewㅠ

I was told to do 40 kilos, thinking it would be light, but it doesn't move at all.
Is it correct to understand the number as the sum of the barbell weight plus the weight of the plates on both sides? I was doing it with 25kg on each side and suddenly had this question!!
