If you grip the dumbbell too tightly, a lot of tension goes into your arms and forearms. I experienced that too. Think of holding it a little more lightly, and don’t put too much strength into your arms. When you push up and lower it, try to feel the resistance of the dumbbell resting in your hands and lower it a bit more slowly.
